What are the Mesurix terms of use?

Mesurix terms of use set out what you can do with the Mesurix website, browser tools, app, charts and written material. The ring sizer converts a calibrated screen measurement into regional ring-size numbers. It does not certify the physical measurement or promise that a finished ring will fit. Confirm an expensive or non-returnable ring with a jeweller before buying. Mesurix is not liable for a ring that does not fit.

What do you agree to when you use Mesurix?

These terms apply when you use the Mesurix website, its browser tools, the Mesurix app or material published by Mesurix. Using one of those services means that you agree to use it lawfully and to accept the measurement limits set out below. If you do not accept these terms, do not use the website, browser tools, app or content.

Mesurix is the website and app published by Vast Flow, LLP, a company registered in Kazakhstan. Mesurix is not a jeweller. The service does not replace a jeweller’s measurement, fitting advice or responsibility for a ring sold by a jeweller.

In these terms, content means the text, illustrations, figures, charts, code, interface, instructions and other material made available through Mesurix. Tools means the browser ring sizer, on-screen ruler, bubble level and related measuring functions on the website or in the app. The distinction matters: Mesurix publishes content, while you use the tools to make a measurement on your device.

You decide whether a result is suitable for the purchase or task in front of you. You also need to check the seller’s size system, return policy, band width, material and fitting advice. A size label does not make two rings identical. Regional systems describe different measurements, and a wide band can require a different choice from a narrow band even when the nominal size is the same.

Use Mesurix only for lawful purposes. Do not interfere with the site or app, bypass access controls, introduce malicious code, scrape private information or use the service to mislead another person. These terms do not transfer ownership of Mesurix content, software, branding, interface or design to you.

What does the Mesurix measurement disclaimer mean?

Mesurix measurements are estimates made from a calibrated screen, the finger or object being measured and the way the measurement is taken. The arithmetic may be exact while the physical result is wrong. An incorrect card position, a poor calibration, an angled screen, a misplaced finger or a finger measured at a different time can change the answer.

A Mesurix result is not certified or laboratory accuracy. It is not guaranteed, and it is not equal to a jeweller’s steel mandrel. Mesurix can calculate a number precisely from the measurements it receives; it cannot inspect the finished ring, feel the pressure at your knuckle or correct a calibration that was entered incorrectly.

A ring size is one number: the inner diameter of the band, measured in millimetres. Mesurix also converts between regional systems, but the seller’s system must be checked before an order is placed. Under EU and ISO 8653 sizing, the size is the inner circumference in millimetres. That makes 54 mm an EU/ISO 54 and a US 7. Under the French and Swiss system, the size equals the circumference in millimetres minus 40, so FR 14 is 54 mm and corresponds to US 7.

For US and Canadian sizing, Mesurix publishes this formula:

diameter (mm) = 11.63 + 0.8128 × size

The formula gives US 7 as 17.32 mm. One whole US size changes the inner diameter by 0.8128 mm, which is about 2.55 mm of circumference. That difference is small on a ruler but large enough to affect whether a band clears the knuckle.

For UK, Australian and Irish sizing, letters include half steps. The published formula is:

circumference (mm) = 37.14 + 1.28 × s

Here, s counts half-letter steps from A. US 7 corresponds to UK N 1/2. A seller using UK, Australian or Irish letters should therefore be given the letter size and the underlying measurement where possible, rather than a US number copied without checking.

The Japan scale, also used in Korea and China, uses diameter in millimetres as follows:

diameter (mm) = 13 + (n - 1) / 3

The reverse calculation is:

n = 3 × diameter - 38

US 7 corresponds to JP 14. Korean sellers quote the same 호 numbers as the Japanese 号 scale, but some Korean shops use 호 to mean circumference in millimetres instead. Look for a millimetre figure next to the number. A Korean listing that says 호 without a millimetre measurement can therefore describe a different measurement from the Japanese-style number you expected.

The figures come from the Mesurix formulas and the named regional systems. They make conversion checkable. They do not turn an uncertain finger or screen measurement into a certain ring order.

Why does Mesurix use a bank card for calibration?

A browser cannot determine the physical size of its own screen pixels. A CSS pixel is defined against a 96 dpi reference display, so the browser has no way to know how large its pixels are on the particular panel in front of you. Calibration supplies the missing physical reference.

The calibration reference is an ISO/IEC 7810 ID-1 card. The format measures 85.60 mm × 53.98 mm. Bank cards use it, as do most national identity cards, driving licences and many transport cards. Its practical advantage is distribution: an ID-1 card is the most widely distributed physical length standard in the world, so many readers can calibrate a screen without buying a measuring instrument.

Place the correct card edge against the on-screen reference and follow the calibration instruction rather than estimating the card size from memory. A calibration error is not confined to one point on the screen. It changes every later measurement made with that calibration.

Use the Mesurix ring sizer or the ring size chart to compare a result. Both are decision aids. Neither is a promise about the dimensions, comfort or fit of a ring made by a particular seller.

Why can the same finger give different readings?

Finger size changes during the day. Fingers are largest late in the day, after heat, exercise or salty food, and smallest on a cold morning. The spread across one day is easily a quarter of a US size. A single reading can therefore describe the finger at one moment rather than a permanent size.

Take readings at more than one sensible time and record the underlying diameter or circumference as well as the regional label. When two sizes are possible, choose the larger one. A ring has to pass over the knuckle to go on and off. A loose ring can be tightened with sizing beads or a fitted bar; a ring that cannot clear the knuckle cannot be worn.

Band width changes the practical choice. The trade rule of thumb is about a quarter size up from a band width of 6 mm and about a half size up from 8 mm. Ask the jeweller how the particular design is intended to fit, especially if the ring is wide, has a substantial profile or will sit beside another ring.

Why are string and paper-strip measurements unreliable?

The physical scale of the error is easy to underestimate. A sheet of 80 gsm office paper is about 0.10 mm thick. A human hair is about 0.07 mm. One US ring size is 0.81 mm, roughly eight sheets of that paper. A strip that shifts by a fraction of a millimetre can therefore move the result towards another size.

String and paper-strip methods also stretch and compress. Pulling harder changes the length of string; pressing a paper strip against the finger changes how it sits and overlaps. Depending on how hard the material is pulled or pressed, these methods can read a quarter to a half size high or low.

Before buying an expensive or non-returnable ring, confirm the result with a jeweller. Give the jeweller the measured diameter or circumference, the regional size, the band width and any uncertainty about the fit. Mesurix accepts no responsibility for a ring, jewellery item or other purchase that does not fit, for a seller’s conversion error or for loss caused by reliance on a Mesurix estimate.

The same limit applies to the Mesurix measurement tools. Use the on-screen ruler and bubble level for ordinary measuring and checking. Verify a result when an incorrect measurement could cause financial loss, damage, injury or another important consequence.

How may you use the Mesurix tools and content?

You may use the Mesurix website and browser tools for personal, educational and ordinary practical measuring. The browser tools are free, need no account and run entirely in the page. Nothing is uploaded by those tools. The one-number calibration is stored in localStorage on the device and browser being used.

That local storage does not make a screen measurement independent of the device. Browser zoom, device settings, screen scaling, display size and physical handling can affect what you see and how you place an object. Clearing site data, changing browsers or moving to another device can remove or change the stored calibration.

The Mesurix app is free and available for iPhone and Android. On Apple devices, it supports iOS 13 or later on compatible hardware. The app adds saved sizes and profiles, every standard on one screen, a finger-measure mode, a printable sizer, the on-screen ruler and a bubble level with a set-zero step. It works offline.

Use the tool that matches the task and follow its instructions. Place a card, finger or object squarely against the reference. Keep the screen at a comfortable viewing angle. Repeat a reading when the result will affect a purchase. Do not force a finger into a ring, make a measurement that causes pain or use a measuring result where an error could create a safety risk.

Mesurix provides the website, app and content on an as-available basis. The service may contain mistakes, become unavailable, change its interface or stop supporting a device. Mesurix does not promise that every tool will suit every screen, browser, operating system, object, finger or purpose.

You may read, print and use ordinary instructions for your own measurement. You may not copy the app, reverse engineer it, remove notices, sell access to the service, impersonate Mesurix or use Mesurix content to create a competing service without permission. Copyright and other rights remain with their respective owners unless these terms expressly allow reuse.

A page may include links or references that help explain a measurement. A link does not mean that Mesurix endorses the jeweller, seller, product or external service mentioned there. Check the seller’s own dimensions, size system, return conditions and fitting guidance before placing an order.

When can you reuse a Mesurix chart or figure?

You may reuse figures and charts published on Mesurix when the use is lawful, the source is credited and a clear link leads back to the relevant Mesurix page. The link should take readers to the source without requiring a login or using a misleading redirect. This permission covers useful sharing, teaching, editorial reference and similar lawful reuse when the material remains accurate.

Keep the numbers, units, labels and regional names intact. A chart that changes 17.32 mm into a rounded figure, or presents EU/ISO circumference as though it were diameter, can send someone towards the wrong ring size. Do not crop away the source, a qualification or the statement identifying whether a value is a diameter or circumference.

A Mesurix figure may appear in an article, guide, presentation or social post when the surrounding use is not deceptive. State that the figure comes from Mesurix if the context could otherwise make authorship unclear. A link back is required even when the figure is free to view and even when the reuse is not commercial.

Do not claim that Mesurix tested, approved or supplied a ring, seller, device or measurement when the source provides only a chart or formula. Do not use the Mesurix name, logo, screenshots or content to suggest sponsorship, certification or partnership. Commercial or substantial reuse that goes beyond a chart or figure should be discussed with Mesurix before publication.

Permission to reuse charts and figures does not transfer copyright in the app, site design, code, writing or branding. Mesurix may ask for a correction or removal if reused material is inaccurate, unlawful, confusing or no longer matches the current chart. A source link makes a figure traceable; it does not make a copied measurement suitable for every ring purchase.

How do the app, app stores and payments work?

The Mesurix app is free and distributed through the Apple App Store and Google Play. The terms of the relevant store govern downloading, installing, the store account, device compatibility, updates, platform permissions and any payment or other transaction handled by that store.

Mesurix does not replace the store’s agreement with you. Read the Apple or Google terms that apply in your country before downloading. Use the store’s own process for an account problem, download issue, refund request or platform charge. A store listing, operating-system change or store policy can affect how the app is obtained or used.

The website browser tools are free and need no account. They run entirely in the page, upload nothing and keep the one-number calibration in localStorage on the device and browser using the tools. Clearing site data, changing browsers or using another device can remove or change that calibration.

The app can work offline and provides the listed app features without an account. Saved sizes and profiles remain subject to the device and app environment. Keep an important measurement in a separate note before changing devices or removing the app. Mesurix is not a storage service and is not a jeweller’s order record.

Mesurix may release an update, correct content, change a feature, withdraw a tool or stop supporting a platform. An update can alter the interface or the way a device handles a feature. Keep the app and operating system supported where possible, and calibrate again after a material change to the screen, device or display settings.

The app’s listed features are measuring aids, not a promise about a product sold by a third party. Apple App Store and Google Play handle their own platform relationship with you. These terms govern your use of Mesurix content and services to the extent permitted by applicable law.

What are the Mesurix liability limits and how can you make contact?

Mesurix is not liable for a ring that does not fit, an incorrect jewellery order, a seller’s conversion error, a failed return or loss arising from reliance on an estimate. This limitation covers measurements from the website, browser tools, app, printable sizer, charts and written content.

Confirm an expensive or non-returnable ring with a jeweller before buying. A screen or paper result is not a jeweller’s steel-mandrel measurement. This is the practical limit to keep in mind: Mesurix can calculate a conversion, but it cannot examine the finished band or your knuckle.

Nothing in these terms removes a right or protection that applicable law does not allow Mesurix to exclude. Subject to that limit, you use the site, app, tools and content at your own risk. Mesurix does not promise uninterrupted availability, error-free operation, a particular result or suitability for a particular purchase or purpose.

Kazakhstan law governs these terms because Vast Flow, LLP is registered in Kazakhstan. Any applicable legal process must follow the rules that apply in Kazakhstan. Mandatory consumer protections in the place where you live remain unaffected where the law requires them.

Mesurix may change these terms when the site, app, law or service changes. The version published on this page applies to future use from the time it is posted. If a change affects your decision to use a tool, read the current terms before continuing. Stop using the service if you do not accept the updated terms.
